Introdução: A construção de um sorriso saudável e estético, na atualidade, tem o seu sucesso associado à sinergia de todas as especialidades na área da Medicina Dentária.
A aparência do sorriso tem um grande impacto na vida dos indivíduos, podendo afetar desde o convívio social até mesmo às relações profissionais. Este é um dos principais motivos pelos quais os pacientes recorrem a ajuda de especialistas da área.
Objetivo: Estudo bibliográfico que permite determinar quais os aspetos que contribuem para a harmonia do sorriso, com base na análise de alguns elementos faciais. Aborda-se a estética e harmonia do sorriso, analisando alguns parâmetros macroestéticos como linha média facial, ameias incisais, pontos de contacto, inclinação axial e progressão de cor; exposição dentária, posição “M”, posição “E”, linha intercomissural e enquadramento com o lábio inferior, espaço vestibular e linha do sorriso.
Metodologia: Revisão narrativa da bibliografia, selecionada de acordo com as palavras-chave e objetivo do trabalho.
Discussão e Conclusão: O estudo revelou que a análise da face é fundamental na composição do sorriso. Ela identifica as características menos favoráveis e mais favoráveis de cada indivíduo, com o intuito de obter um equilíbrio entre a face e o sorriso.
Introduction: Nowadays, the construction of a healthy and aesthetic smile has its success associated with the synergy of all the specialties in dental medicine. The appearance of the smile has a great impact on the lives of individuals and can affect from social life to professional relationships. This is one of the main reasons why patients resort to the help of specialists in the area. Objective: A bibliographic study that allows the author to determine the aspects that contribute to the harmony of the smile based on the analysis of some facial elements. It discusses the aesthetics and harmony of the smile by analyzing some macroaesthetic parameters such as facial midline, incisal embrasures, connectors, axial inclination and color progression; dental exposure, position “M”, position “E”, intercommissural line and framing with the lower lip, vestibular space and smile line. Methodology: Narrative review of the selected bibliography, according to the keywords and the objective of the work. Discussion and Conclusion: The study revealed that face analysis is fundamental in the study of the smile. It identifies the less favorable and more favorable characteristics of each individual in order to achieve a balance between the face and the smile.
