| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho, que é o passo final para a conclusão do Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Dentária, partiu de uma série de conversas com o meu orientador, Dr. Jorge Pereira. Visto a minha formação inicial ser a Educação Física e o Desporto, seria de todo interessante, relacionar a mesma com a Medicina Dentária. Um dos assuntos que me despertaram curiosidade, foram as lesões oro-faciais ocorridas no Desporto e a melhor forma de as evitar. Desta forma, importa referenciar os locais onde existe maior ocorrência de lesões a nível facial, o tipo de lesões e em que desportos. Será também relevante referir o tipo de protetores bucais existentes no mercado, os mais adequados, os seus níveis de proteção, a sua comodidade, e, se calhar mais importante ainda, qual o caminho a seguir na Medicina Dentária Desportiva. This monography, that is the final step for the conclusion of the integrated Master in Dentistry, started in a serie of conversations with my mentor, Dr. Jorge Pereira. As my inicial graduation is in Fisical Education and Sports, it was of all the interest, connect it with Dentistry. One of the subjects that arouse me curiosity, were the oro-facial injuries that occur in Sports and the best way to prevent them. In this way, it´s important to refer the locus were exists more occurrence of injuries at facial level, the types and in which Sports. It will be of all the relevancy to refer the types of mouthguards that exists in the market, the more fitted, level of protection, commodity, and, maybe more important, which is the best way to pursue in Dentistry. | pt_PT |
