Abstract(s)

O sebastianismo é uma religião estritamente portuguesa, sustentando a Mensagem de Pessoa a fundamentação deste juízo. Todavia, nomes como o de Garrett, Antero de Quental, Guerra Junqueiro, Teixeira de Pascoaes, Oliveira Martins ou António Nobre constituem um importante acervo para o estudo deste mito. A embriaguez sebástica, mais ou menos camuflada, vestigia-se ainda em obras desta viragem do milénio. Não esquecendo o indiscutível binómio literatura-sociedade, e entrando numa perspectiva sociológica, atente-se ainda nos comportamentos e atitudes da sociedade contemporânea reflectidos em multímodos procedimentos de carácter revivalista. Sebastianism is a strictly Portuguese religion, an assertion which the Message of Fernando Pessoa grounds. However, names as those of Garrett, Antero de Quental, Guerra Junqueiro, Teixeira de Pascoaes, Oliveira Martins or António Nobre also constitute an important repository for the study of this myth. Though more or less hidden, there are still vestiges of the sebastic inebriety, at the turn of the millennium. Also, bearing in mind the relation between literature and society, and from a sociological perspective, revivalism can be traced in multiple attitudes and behaviours of the contemporary society.
