O propósito deste trabalho visa resumir estudos recentes em relação ao uso de implantes dentários de titânio e quanto ao uso de agentes profiláticos como o fluoreto e sua interferência na corrosão e consequentes efeitos decorrentes.
O titânio e largamente estudado e utilizado para próteses tanto na Medicina Geral quanto na Medicina Dentária com a utilização dos implantes dentários.
Os fluoretos são muito estudados pois visam a redução e prevenção de prevalência de carie e consequentemente a busca de saúde dentária. O uso de tal produto pode, entretanto, ter consequências inicialmente imperceptíveis, mas extremamente relevantes.
The purpose of this paper is to summarize recent studies related to the use of dental implants of titanium; the use of prophylactic agents such as fluoride, with specific reference to its interference in corrosion and consequential effects. Titanium alloy is widely studied and used for prosthesis both in general medicine and in dentistry, where it is used for dental implants. Fluoride is widely studied because of its properties in the reduction and prevention of tooth decay The results of using such a product may be initially imperceptible, but over a period of time its use does bring about considerable improvement in dental health.
