Abstract(s)
The restoration of posterior teeth is very demanding in order to maintain the patient's occlusion without interference, stable and functional. The aim of this study was to review the occlusal anatomy of posterior teeth, evaluate which factors interfere more in occlusion and which restorative techniques are more effective to obtain a final result with satisfactory, physiological and functional occlusion. To this end, a search was carried out in the Medline, Pubmed, B-On and Scielo databases, between 1960 and 2021. The Stamp technique seems to be one of the best techniques for reproducing the occlusal table of posterior teeth; however, it also has limitations. Further studies on posterior teeth restorations are needed to find the most effective technique to obtain the ideal anatomy for each patient, in order to allow a stable occlusion.
