Abstract(s)
A ortodontia intercetiva envolve vários problemas ortodônticos que já devem ser tratados em idade precoce ajudando a diminuir a sua complexidade ou até mesmo evitar a necessidade de procedimentos futuros complexos. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo realçar a importância do tratamento ortodôntico intercetivo perante as mordidas cruzadas posteriores, ainda na fase de dentição decídua ou mista.
Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica de artigos científicos, com limite temporal entre junho de 2000 e janeiro de 2023, nas bases de dados PubMed e B-on. Foram definidos os seguintes termos de pesquisa durante a busca: “Orthodontics interceptive”;“posterior crossbite”, “Malocclusion”. As palavras-chave foram combinadas e articuladas através do marcador booleano AND.
As possíveis vantagens de uma intervenção precoce são a satisfação emocional da criança, o potencial de crescimento disponível nesta fase do desenvolvimento, a possibilidade de uma segunda fase mais simples, ou mesmo evitar uma segunda etapa de tratamento.

A bibliographic search of scientific articles was carried out, with a time limit between June 2000 and January 2023, in the PubMed and B-on databases. The following search terms were used during the search: “Orthodontics interceptive”; “Posterior crossbite”; “Malocclusion”. Keywords were combined and articulated using Boolean marker AND.
