O presente trabalho consiste em apresentar através de uma revisão bibliográfica as
alterações do disco articular através do uso da ressonância magnética para o diagnóstico das
disfunções temporomandibulares. Especificamente pretende-se caracterizar a articulação
temporomandibular com base nos seus aspectos anatômicos e fisiológicos além de evidenciar
as alterações de posição e morfologia do disco articular e seu impacto nas patologias
articulares confrontando a ressonância magnética com outros métodos de diagnósticos por
imagem.
The present work consists in presenting through a bibliographic review the alterations of the articular disc through the use of magnetic resonance imaging for the diagnosis of temporomandibular disorders. Specifically, it is intended to characterize the temporomandibular joint based on its anatomical and physiological aspects, besides evidencing the positional and morphological alterations of the articular disc and its impact on the articular pathologies confronting the MRI with other methods of diagnostic imaging.
