Abstract(s)

The laser, used properly, is capable of ensuring the early diagnosis and almost atraumatic treatment of dental caries, also allowing tissues regeneration. The goal of this study is to analyze the information published about the applications of this technology in hard dental tissues, highlighting advantages and disadvantages when compared with conventional methods. For this purpose a research was carried out with objective criteria in scientifically validated databases. There is some consensus on using lasers to approach tooth hypersensitivity and selective removal of carious tissue. Further studies will be needed to be able to prove their effectiveness in other features.
