Abstract(s)
Guided endodontics is an innovative technique that allows endodontic treatment to be performed more precisely and predictably than conventional techniques. It is available in two modes: static and dynamic. Static guided endodontics uses a pre-made guide to direct the endodontic instruments, while dynamic guided endodontics uses a navigation system that allows the endodontic instrument to be guided in real time using spatial cues to follow the movements of the endodontic instruments. The benefits of using guided endodontics include reduced treatment time, less removal of tooth structure, better predictability, and a higher success rate. The history of guided endodontics dates back to the 1990s, but has developed significantly in recent years due to technological advances. In this thesis we will develop the topic of guided endodontics, both static and dynamic techniques, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each. The search for scientific evidence was performed in PubMed, using the keywords "Endodontics guided", "Endodontics"; "root channel"; "guided endodontic"; "cone-beam computed tomography"; "software" and "technology". The inclusion criteria were all access articles available in PubMed, through the crossing of keywords presented with Boolean operator "AND", and related articles, in English.
