Abstract(s)
Objective: The main objective of this study was to evaluate the satisfaction of patients with removable prosthetic treatment at Pedagogic Clinics of Dental Medecine (PCDM) from Fernando Pessoa University with regards to quality of life and their oral condition. Material and methods: To perform this study 100 patients being followed at the Fernando Pessoa University dental medecine clinics were selected based on their clinic history of removable prosthesis rehabilitation. A survey was created and launched by the author of this study to the patients attending the clinics during the period between February and June of 2014. This survey was based on a Pubmed bibliographic research dated from 2008 till 2014 with the key words: “removable prosthetic dental”, “satisfaction”, “removable dental prosthesis”, “removable dental prosthodontics”, “tooth loss”, “oral satisfaction”, “prosthesis”, “remobable dentures”, “quality life” and “dentures”. Results/Conclusions: In this study, it was possible to verify that patients who have reported satisfaction with their prosthesis are those who show the highest QVRSO (30%). The edentulism or lower Kennedy Class I are the type of toothless that has more contribution to a bad QVRSO result (20,9%). It was not found in this study any association between QVRSO and socio-demographic factors or clinical evaluation parameters.
