O objetivo desta revisão bibliográfica consiste, através da análise da literatura recente,
perceber a eficácia da terapia cirúrgica ressetiva da peri-implantite.
Para isso, foi realizada uma pesquisa eletrónica, através de bases de dados, tais como a
Pubmed, B-On, Science Direct e Scielo, complementada ainda com pesquisa bibliográfica
manual. Foi dada relevância a referências publicadas nos últimos 5 anos, em língua inglesa,
realizados, recorrendo exclusivamente a terapia cirúrgica ressetiva. Assim, foram encontrados
3104 artigos dos quais, após avaliação dos mesmos, apenas 39 estritamente relacionados com
o tema, foram incluídos neste trabalho.
Os resultados obtidos permitiram concluir que o tratamento cirúrgico ressetivo é eficaz
na redução da inflamação dos tecidos moles, bem como na diminuição da profundidade de
sondagem. Contudo, serão necessários estudos científicos adicionais, no sentido de avaliar a
eficácia da terapia em questão visto que, até ao momento, não existe um protocolo ideal para a
terapia cirúrgica ressetiva da peri-implantite.
The objective of this bibliographic review is to try to analyze an effective protocol for peri-implantitis surgical resective therapy, according to the analysis of recent literature. Therefore, an electronic research was carried out through the database, such as Pubmed, B-On, Science Direct and Scielo, and also complemented with manual bibliographic research. Preference was given to references published in the last 5 years, in English, exclusively for surgical resective therapy of peri-implantitis. Thus 3104 articles were found and, after evaluation, only 39 directly related to the issue were included in this work. Through the obtained results we could conclude that resective surgical treatment is effective in reducing soft tissue inflammation as well as reducing depth of probing. However, further scientific studies will be necessary to evaluate the efficacy of this therapy, once, to date, there is no ideal protocol regarding resective surgical treatment of peri-implantitis.
