Sendo os micro-organismos o principal fator de insucesso do tratamento endodôntico,
um aspeto preponderante para um tratamento eficiente é providenciar uma redução
microbiana máxima do canal radicular.
Os diferentes sistemas de instrumentação em Endodontia foram sempre evoluindo com
o propósito de fornecer ao paciente e ao profissional um tratamento mais rápido, seguro
e eficaz.
Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar e comparar alguns dos sistemas rotatórios e
reciprocantes disponíveis no mercado, com o intuito de definir qual deles permite uma
maior redução do número de micro-organismos no canal radicular e consequentemente,
permite obter um melhor tratamento endodôntico.
Embora todos os sistemas estudados terem apresentado eficácias similares na redução
microbiana, alguns trabalhos mostraram diferenças relevantes no que concerne ao
preparo do canal radicular.
Este fato torna necessário a realização de novos estudos para avaliar os diferentes
sistemas disponíveis no mercado e suas respetivas eficácias na redução microbiana.
As microorganisms are the main factor of failure during the endodontic treatment, a preponderant aspect for an efficient treatment is to provide a maximum microbial reduction of the root canal. The different systems of instrumentation in Endodontics have always been evolving with the purpose of providing to the patient as to the professional a faster, safer and more effective treatment. This work aims to analyze and compare some of the rotational and reciprocating systems available in the market, with the intention of defining which of them allows a greater reduction in the number of microorganisms in the root canal and consequently, allows to obtain a better endodontic treatment. Although all the systems studied presented similar efficiency in microbial reduction, some studies showed relevant differences in the preparation of the root canal. This makes it necessary to carry out new studies to evaluate the different systems available in the market and their respective efficiency in microbial reduction.
