Um dos procedimentos clínicos mais satisfatórios na Medicina Dentária estética restauradora é a confecção de restaurações que se igualam à forma, contorno e cor natural dos elementos dentários ausentes, pois devolvem a qualidade estética e funcional do sistema estomatognático.
Para a seleção da cor é fundamental a avaliação de quatro aspetos: matiz, saturação, valor e translucidez, no entanto a cor deve ser vista com arte e ciência, mas muitas das vezes próteses fixas com as funcionalidades corretas são rejeitadas pelos pacientes por motivos cromáticos.
A cor depende de três fatores, nomeadamente do observador, do objeto e da fonte luminosa, no entanto no ambiente clínico de Medicina Dentária são normalmente encontradas três fontes de luz: natural, incandescente e fluorescente.
Existe vários métodos de seleção de cor, nomeadamente visual e instrumental como a escala de cores, espectrofotómetros, mas também o uso de fotografias digitais que permitem a associação de informações necessárias para uma boa comunicação entre o Médico Dentista e o Técnico de Prótese Dentária para se obter resultados estéticos mais previsíveis.
A realização deste trabalho consiste na recolha bibliográfica de trinta e um artigos publicados anteriormente que visam determinar os diferentes métodos de seleção de cor.
One of the most satisfactory clinical procedures in aesthetic restorative aesthetic medicine is the confection of restorations that match the shape, contour and natural color of the absent dental elements, since they return the aesthetic and functional quality of the stomatognathic system. For color selection it is fundamental to evaluate four aspects: hue, saturation, value and translucency, however color should be seen with art and science, but many times fixed prostheses with correct functionalities are rejected by patients for color reasons. The color depends on three factors, namely the observer, the object and the light source, however in the clinical environment of Dental Medicine are usually found three sources of light: natural, incandescent and fluorescent. There are several methods of color selection, namely visual and instrumental such as color scale, spectrophotometers, but also the use of digital photographs that allow the association of information necessary for good communication between the Dentist and the Dental Prosthesis Technician in order to obtain more predictable aesthetic results. The accomplishment of this work consists of the bibliographical collection of previously published articles that aim at determining the different methods of color selection.
