Abstract(s)
Introduction: A person's well-being plays a very important role in their quality of life and is influenced by a very wide range of factors, circumstances, situations and environments in which the person is inserted, so it is important to know the impact of these variables on general well-being, especially family and social environments and how they can be decisive in maintaining a good quality of life, regardless of the person's age, race, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, educational qualifications or employment. Objectives: 1) To map the existing literature on the influence of social and family environments on people's well-being. 2) To prove the hypothesis that social and family environments influence people's general well-being worldwide, regardless of any variable. Methods: A scoping review was carried out in November 2024 in accordance with the methodology of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). Discussion: 30 studies were identified, 16 of which were included as they fulfil the eligibility criteria for inclusion in the review. Social and family environments play a fundamental role based on the person's stage of life, however, there are many variables that are responsible for the good maintenance of social and family environments, which consequently prevent the deterioration of these environments and consequently of the person's well-being. Conclusion: According to the literature, it is possible to state that social and family environments play an important role in preventing illness, in the process of recovery from an acute clinical condition, in maintaining quality of life and in the development of children and adolescents. It is important to maintain the proper functioning of family and social variables by creating policies or investing in infrastructure and services so that the environments in question do not deteriorate and consequently affect the well-being of the person.
