Objetivo: O objetivo deste trabalho consistiu em avaliar a eficĂĄcia, segurança e aplicabilidade clĂnica da infiltração de resina IconÂź no tratamento de lesĂ”es iniciais de cĂĄrie nas superfĂcies proximais em pacientes odontopediĂĄtricos.
Metodologia: Para elaboração deste trabalho, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliogrĂĄfica nas bases de dados on-line: Pubmed e Google Scholar no perĂodo compreendido entre novembro de 2020 e maio de 2021. Foram estabelecidos critĂ©rios de inclusĂŁo e de exclusĂŁo para a seleção dos artigos.
TĂłpico Abordado: A infiltração de resina IconÂź parece ser um tratamento seguro e eficaz para controlar a evolução das lesĂ”es iniciais de cĂĄrie em ambas as dentiçÔes, desde que bem indicada e realizada conforme as orientaçÔes do fabricante. Contudo, Ă© escassa a literatura sobre a sua aplicação em dentes permanentes no perĂodo de maturação pĂłs-eruptiva. Apesar das consideraçÔes tĂ©cnicas, o sistema IconÂź parece apresentar uma boa aplicabilidade clĂnica na ĂĄrea da odontopediatria, podendo ser adicionado ao leque de opçÔes para a abordagem destas lesĂ”es.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy, safety and clinical applicability of IconÂź resin infiltration in the treatment of early caries lesions on proximal surfaces in pediatric dental patients. Methods: For the elaboration of this work, a bibliographic search was carried out in the online databases: Pubmed and Google Scholar in the period between November 2020 and May 2021. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were established for the selection of articles. Topic Covered: IconÂź resin infiltration appears to be a safe and effective treatment to control the evolution of early caries lesions in both dentitions if it is well indicated and performed according to the manufacturer's guidelines. However, there is little literature on its application in permanent teeth in the post-eruptive maturation period. Despite technical considerations, the IconÂź system seems to have good clinical applicability in the field of pediatric dentistry and can be added to the range of options for approaching these lesions.
