| dc.description.abstract | The mall’s genesis is based on a chain of changes, which took place on the length of time that came after the Industrial Revolution. For their importance, the individual’s assertment; the large increase of the production and, finally, the constant branching of the urbane space,are pointed out. We live in a society of codes and themes, which despite being unwritten, are previously understood as producers of meaning. Therefore, the mall, before being a concrete fact, has already been expressed. Hereby, the cogitation we made around Via Catarina assumed beforehand that this one could be studied as a significant which produces several significances that surmise certain connotations. So, the mall has been analysed as a sign possessing various functions, from which different codes come into view. A génese do centro comercial tem por base uma série de modificações ocorridas no período subsequente à Revolução Industrial. Destacamse,pela sua relevância, a afirmação do indivíduo; o aumento considerável da produção e, por fim, a ramificação sistemática do espaço urbano. Vivemos numa sociedade de códigos e temas que, não sendo escritos,são pensados previamente como produtores de significados. Portanto,o centro comercial antes de estar no espaço, foi enunciado. Por isso, a reflexão que fizemos sobre o Via Catarina pressupôs que este fosse passível de ser estudado como um significante que produz vários significados e que conjecturam determinadas conotações. Assim, o centro comercial foi analisado como um signo polissémico, no qual emergem vários códigos. | por |
