Abstract(s)

After 1400, the Danish administration introduced Danish as the official written language of Norway. As Norwegian nationalism grew in the 1800s, its linguistics consequences were gradually felt. The task of standarizing a modern Norwegian language from the Norwegian dialects was done by Ivar Aasen. The paper traces subsequent and particularly contemporary attempts to resurrect and to revitalize these original languages. The paper seeks to make informed theoretical comment on language revitalization generally. Após 1400, a Administração dinamarquesa introduziu na Noruega, o dinamarquês como língua escrita oficial. O crescimento do nacionalismo norueguês dos anos 80 do século passado veio gradualmente a ter consequências linguísticas. A tarefa de padronização dos vários dialectos noruegueses numa língua moderna foi levada a cabo por Ivar Aasen. O artigo debruça-se sobre as tentativas de ressurreição e revitalização dessas línguas originais levadas a cabo após a unificação linguística. O artigo tenta também levar a cabo um comentário teórico geral sobre a revitalização linguística.
