| dc.description.abstract | Em 1964, com a descoberta da osseointegraçã o por Branemark, as reabilita ções orais com implantes dentários tornaram se possíveis e a procura por melhores resultados estéticos e funcionais foi iniciada. Altera ções nas superfícies dos implantes apresentaram provas da sua eficiência para obter melhores resultados e manutençã o a longo prazo do implante. Isto levou a que existam inúmeros tipos de tratamento de superfí cie assim como a utilização de diferentes materiais para compor os implantes dentais. Ao se deparar com o grande nú mero de diferentes op ções, marcas e valores, cabe ao Médico Dentista optar pelo material que se adeque as necessidades específicas de cada doente e com isto, este trabalho busca ilustrar alguns dos diferentes tipos de tratamentos de superfície existentes e compará los afim de facilitar a escolha por parte do profissional. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In 1964, with the discovery of osseointegration by Branemark, oral rehabilitations with dental implants became possible and the search for better aesthetic and functional results was started. Changes in the surfaces of the implants provided evidence of their efficiency for better results and long term maintenance of the implant. This has led to the existence of numerous types of surface treatment as well as the use of different materials to make up the dental implants. When faced with the great number of different options, brands and values, i t is up to the Dentist to choose the material that fits the specific needs of each patient and with this, this work seeks to illustrate some of the different types of existing surface treatments and compare them in order to facilitate the choice of the professional. | pt_PT |
