Abstract(s)
A alimentação é uma necessidade de todo ser humano. A amamentação materna é uma fonte de alimento completa, com todos os nutrientes que o bebé precisa até os 6 meses de idade, e deve ser prolongada até os 2 anos de idade. (Almeida, 1998)
O ato de amamentação também influencia positivamente no desenvolvimento da cavidade oral e doenças sistêmicas. (Moyers, 1979)
A amamentação no seio materno deixa o bebé saciado, evitando o aparecimento de hábitos de sucção não nutritivos como a chupeta, biberão e a sucção do dedo. (Almeida, 1998)
Hoje em dia, a rotina do dia a dia é muito acelerada, e as mães podem não ter muito tempo para se dedicar ao filho, introduzindo chupetas e biberão, mas não sabem o quanto essa “falta de tempo” pode trazer prejuízos à criança se não usadas corretamente. Além de problemas sociais e psicológicos, um dos fatores mais agravantes é a maloclusão, em especifico nesttese trabalho, a mordida aberta anterior.
As famílias devem tomar conhecimento da importância do aleitamento materno para que os seus filhos crescam bem e saúdaveis, O aleitamento materno é importante e deve ser incentivado e divulgado.
Este trabalho baseia-se em uma revisão bibliográfica que tem por objetivo saber como e por que motivo o aleitamento materno ajuda a prevenir os hábitos de sucção não nutritivos e na consequente mordida aberta anterior. E então concluímos a importância do incentivo àa amamentação e da orientação aos pais.
Food is a necessity for every human being. Breast milk is a complete food source, with all the nutrients that the baby needs until 6 months of age, and should be extended to 2 years of age. (Almeida, 1998) The act of breastfeeding also positively influences the development of oral and systemic diseases. (Moyers, 1979) Breastfeeding in the womb leaves the satiated baby, avoiding the appearance of non-nutritive sucking habits as a pacifier, bottle and finger sucking. (Almeida, 1998) Today, the daily routine is very fast, and mothers may not have much time to devote to the child, introducing pacifiers and bottle, but do not know how much this "lack of time" can bring harm to the child. In addition to social and psychological problems, one of the most aggravating factors is malocclusion, in specifically in this school work, the anterior open bite. Families should be aware of the importance of breastfeeding for their children to grow well and healthy. Breastfeeding is important and should be encouraged and publicized. This work is based on a literature review that aims to know how and why reason breastfeeding helps prevent non-nutritive sucking habits and the consequent anterior open bite.And then we conclude the importance of encouraging the breastfeeding and guidance for parents.
