Abstract(s)

Este trabajo propone una cartografía de las dramaturgias chilenas de la víspera del Bicentenario: 1990-2008 (textos escritos por generaciones de 1987 y 2002, según los esquemas históricos). Propongo—a modo de hipótesis—que, hoy día, nuestros dramaturgos se manifiestan desde de tres subjetividades: elegías obreras (subjetividad que se pregunta por la clausura de las utopías obreras del siglo XX), hagiografías lumpen (subjetividad que se pregunta por los individuos no asimilables al proyecto cívico del Bicentenario), y paisajes de la globalización (subjetividad que se pregunta por el impacto que los epifenómenos de la globalización tienen en la esfera local). In this paper I propose a cartography of Chilean drama in the dawn of the Bicentennial: 1990-2008 (texts written by the generation of 1987 and 2002 according to historical outlines). My hypothesis is that present playwrights express themselves from three subjectivities: working class elegies (a subjectivity that interrogates the cancelation of the workers’ utopias in the twentieth-century), urban hagiographies (a subjectivity that interrogates individuals who are not assimilated to the civic project of the Bicentennial), and globalization landscapes (a subjectivity that interrogates the impact of globalization in the local sphere).
