São muitas as técnicas de obturação atualmente disponíveis no mercado. Existe ainda alguma controvérsia e são vários os estudos que avaliam diversos fatores relacionados com estas técnicas de obturação. O objetivo deste estudo de revisão é comparar as diferentes técnicas de obturação, em particular, a técnica de condensação lateral com as técnicas termoplásticas atualmente disponíveis relativamente à qualidade da obturação. Uma revisão da bibliografia foi realizada nas bases de dados electrónicas Pubmed, B-on e Science Direct com várias palavras-chave. Após aplicados os critérios de seleção foram incluídos na revisão narrativa um total de 31 artigos publicados entre o ano de 2007 e o ano de 2021. Com esta revisão pretende-se explicar o princípio da técnica da condensação lateral, bem como o das diferentes técnicas de obturação termoplástica e avaliar a influência das diferentes técnicas de obturação na qualidade da obturação do sistema de canais radiculares.
There are many filling techniques currently available on the market. There is still some controversy and several studies are evaluating various factors related to these filling techniques. The aim of this review study is to compare the different filling techniques, in particular the lateral condensation technique with the thermoplastic techniques currently available regarding filling quality. A literature review was performed in the electronic databases Pubmed, B-on and Science Direct with various keywords. After applying the selection criteria, a total of 31 articles published between the year 2007 and the year 2021 were included in the narrative review. This review aims to explain the principle of the lateral condensation technique, as well as that of the different thermoplastic filling techniques, and to evaluate the influence of the different filling techniques on the quality of the root canal system.
