Abstract(s)
Objetivo: determinar, através da evidência científica mais recente, o impacto da Doença Periodontal na doença de Alzheimer.
Métodos: Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica sistemática através de diferentes bases de dados, Pubmed, B-On e Biblioteca Cochrane. Este trabalho foi submetido a uma estratégia de pesquisa seguindo o método PICO, bem como critérios de inclusão e exclusão, que possibilitaram a seleção de estudos relacionados à associação entre doença de Alzheimer e doenças periodontais.
Resultados: De acordo com a literatura incorporada nesta revisão sistemática, poderá́ existir uma correlação positiva entre a DP e o Alzheimer. 7 estudos foram elegíveis para esta revisão sistemática.
Conclusão: Dos 7 artigos estudados demonstram, a partir de diferentes perspetivas, a influência e interação entre a doença periodontal e a doença de Alzheimer.
