A metáfora do hipertexto e a cidade contemporânea: reflexão seguida de ensaio – a área circundante à estação do Metro de Sete Bicas, em Matosinhos, como objecto hipertextual

| dc.description.abstract | O presente artigo reflecte sobre o hipertexto como metáfora instrumental no âmbito da cidade contemporânea, visando contribuir para ampliar, aprofundar e diversificar a sua conceptualização. Parte das noções de ‘hipercidade’ e de ‘sociedade hipertexto’ propostas, respectivamente, por André Corboz, em 1993, e François Ascher, em 2001. Inspira-se na ideia de que a transposição da mecânica do hipertexto para a cidade pode sustentar a abertura a um diferente modo de a consciencializar, a exemplo da que decorreu da transposição da mecânica da cidade para o hipertexto, que inicialmente ajudou a familiarizar o utilizador da Internet com os ambientes virtuais então desconhecidos. Finalmente, assume a premissa de que a cidade actual pode ser percebida como objecto hipertextual, daí advindo um potencial e estímulos renovados, quer para a sua escrita (projecto urbano), quer para a sua leitura (análise urbana). Assim enquadrado o caso de estudo – uma pequena parte da zona conhecida como Sete Bicas, em Matosinhos –, aí tem lugar o duplo ensaio que se empreende: a aplicação nesse contexto urbano das seis características do hipertexto identificadas e descritas por Pierre Lévy (1990) e a construção do pensamento que sustenta essa transposição metafórica. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This paper reflects on hypertext as an instrumental metaphor within the context of the contemporary city, aiming to contribute to expand, deepen and diversify the conceptualization of the latter. It stems from the notions of ‘hypercity’ and ‘hypertext society’, respectively proposed by André Corboz, in 1993, and François Ascher, in 2001. It is inspired by the idea that the transferring of the hypertext’s mechanics to the city will enable a first step into a different awareness of it, like the one that resulted from the transferring of city’s mechanics to hypertext, which initially helped to acquaint the Internet user with the then unknown virtual environment. Finally, it draws on the premise that the present-day city can be perceived as a hypertextual object, from which a renewed potential and stimulus arises, both in the way it is written (urban project) as in the manner of its reading (urban analysis). Thus framed, the case study – a small part of the area known as Sete Bicas, in Matosinhos –, is the subject of a twofold essay: the application to this urban context of the six characteristics of hypertext identified and described by Pierre Lévy (1990) and the formulation of the rationale that supports this metaphorical transference. | pt_PT |
