Resumo: A gestão das emoções é fundamental na atuação dos enfermeiros, especialmente daqueles que são especializados em saúde mental e psiquiatria. Eles desempenham um papel essencial no cuidado aos pacientes com transtornos mentais, sendo crucial para a excelência do atendimento e para a saúde emocional da equipa de saúde. Objetivo: Mapear a evidencia sobre as vantagens do uso de estratégias da gestão de emoções dos enfermeiros especialistas em saúde mental e psiquiatria que prestam cuidados aos pacientes do foro/transtorno mental. Métodos: Foi efetuada uma scoping review de acordo com a metodologia do JBI. Foram utilizadas, para pesquisar estudos publicados entre 2015 e 2024, as bases de dados MEDLINE, CINAHL e PsycINFO. Um total de cinco artigos foram elegíveis para serem incluídos. Resultados: Foi efetuada uma análise de conteúdo dos artigos selecionados, tendo emergido cinco categorias sendo estas a gestão de emoções, educação para o desenvolvimento da inteligência emocional, empatia, autoconsciência e a competência emocional. Ficou evidente que é necessário atuar para uma melhor gestão de emoções. Conclusões: A gestão de emoções em enfermeiros especialistas em saúde mental que prestam cuidados é um problema na atualidade, razão pela qual é fundamental a implementação de métodos favoráveis no tratamento dessas repercussões.
Abstract: The management of emotions is fundamental in the work of nurses, especially those who specialise in mental health and psychiatry. They play an essential role in caring for patients with mental disorders, and are crucial to the excellence of care and the emotional health of the healthcare team. Aim: To map the evidence on the benefits of using emotion management strategies for nurses specialising in mental health and psychiatry who care for mental health patients. Methods: A scoping review was carried out according to the JBI methodology. MEDLINE, CINAHL and PsycINFO databases were used to search for studies published between 2015 and 2024. A total of five articles were eligible for inclusion. Results: A content analysis of the selected articles was carried out and five categories emerged: emotion management, education for the development of emotional intelligence, empathy, self-awareness and emotional competence. It was clear that action is needed to improve emotion management. Conclusions: The management of emotions in specialist mental health nurses who provide care is a problem today, which is why it is essential to implement favourable methods for dealing with these repercussions.
