Abstract(s)
Introduction: Flare-up is defined as postoperative pain between endodontic sessions, starts at 12 to 48 hours after treatment, and last at least 48 hours. Objectives: This dissertation has as main purpose a narrative review about the main predisposing factors of flare-up and how this situation should be treated. Materials and methods: This narrative review was carried out on several research sites, such as, PUB-MED, B-ON AND SCIENCE DIRECT. Conclusion: This review demonstrates that the presence of preoperative pain, and certain microorganisms, a well-executed technique, disinfection and filling, are related to pain between consultations in endodontic treatment because the treatment itself is aggressive to the periradicular tissues.
