Nowadays, the preservation of pulp vitality is the main concern of the dentist. Thus, a more conservative approach should be chosen through pulp covering techniques, which protect and promote the regeneration of the pulp-dentin complex. The objective of this narrative review was to find out what solutions and techniques are available for the protection and regeneration of the pulp-dentin complex in order to avoid root canal treatment and preserve pulp vitality. For its realization, a bibliographic search was carried out in the databases PubMed, B-on, Elsevier, Science Direct. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were established for the selection of articles.
