| dc.description.abstract | Objetivo: São inúmeros os estudos na literatura que procuram clarificar quais as modalidades existentes e que vantagens apresentam para o tratamento da disfunção temporomandibular. Contudo, a escolha do tratamento a aplicar é ainda um processo complexo, sendo que o objetivo principal deste trabalho visa dar a conhecer as modalidades de tratamento conservador e cirúrgico para a disfunção temporomandibular. Metodologia: Realizou-se uma revisão literária com recurso as bases de dados informáticas como Pubmed, Scielo e Medline, onde foram incluídos artigos de revisão e meta-analises, bem como artigos de relevância para o tema. Descrição do tema: A disfunção temporomandibular compreende um grupo de patologias, dolorosas ou não, da região orofacial. Os sintomas mais frequentes são a dor e ruídos articulares, crepitações, dificuldades em abrir a boca, cefaleias, sensação de má articulação dentária, movimentos mandibulares limitados ou assimétricos. O tratamento pode ser conservador ou cirúrgico, sendo o último indicado para casos de disfunção temporomandibular de causa articular. Como tratamento conservador: 1) Goteiras derelaxamento ou reposicionamento anterior; 2) Fisioterapia/Terapia Cognitivo Comportamental; 3) Cinésioterapia; 4) Estimulação Elétrica Muscular Transcutânea; 5) Laserterapia; 6) Agulhamento seco e 7) Toxina butolínica. Como tratamento cirúrgico: 1) artrocentese; 2) artroscopia e 3) artroplastia. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Objective: There are numerous studies in the literature that seek to clarify which modalities exist and what advantages they have for the treatment of temporomandibular dysfunction. However, the choice of the treatment to be applied is still a complex process, and the main objective of this study is to make known the conservative and surgical treatment modalities for temporomandibular dysfunction. Methodology: A literature review was performed using computer databases such as Pubmed, Scielo and Medline, which included review articles and meta-analyzes, as well as articles of relevance to the theme. Description of the theme: Temporomandibular dysfunction comprises a group of pathologies, painful or not, of the orofacial region. The most common symptoms are joint pain and noise, crackling, difficulty opening the mouth, headache, feeling of poor dental joint, limited or asymmetrical mandibular movements. Treatment may be conservative or surgical, the latter being indicated for cases of temporomandibular joint dysfunction. As a conservative treatment: 1) Drips of relaxation or anterior repositioning; 2) Physical Therapy / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; 3) Kinesiotherapy; 4) Transcutaneous Muscle Electrical Stimulation; 5) Laser therapy; 6) Dry needle and 7) Butolinic toxin. As surgical treatment: 1) arthrocentesis; 2) arthroscopy and 3) arthroplasty. | pt_PT |
