A exposição excessiva de gengiva é frequentemente encontrada e pode ocorrer devido a etiologias intra ou extraorais, como excesso maxilar vertical, hipermobilidade do lábio superior e outros. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo descrever o uso da Técnica Cirúrgica de Reposicionamento Labial para o tratamento do sorriso gengival. A fim de identificar os estudos relevantes, foi realizada uma busca através do motor de pesquisa PubMed. A seleção dos estudos respeitou os critérios de inclusão e exclusão pré-definidos. Após a avaliação dos artigos selecionados, os resultados das pesquisas permitiram concluir que a Técnica Cirúrgica de Reposicionamento Labial é uma alternativa viável no tratamento do sorriso gengival.
The gingiva overexposure is frequently found and can occur due to intra or extraoral etiologies, such as vertical maxillary excess, upper lip hypermobility and others. The objective of this work was to describe the use of the Surgical Technique of Lip Repositioning for the treatment of gummy smile. In order to identify the relevant studies, a search was performed using the PubMed search engine. The selection of studies respected the predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. After evaluating the selected articles, the results of the research allowed to conclude that the Surgical Technique of Lip Repositioning is a viable alternative in the treatment of gummy smile.
