O reimplante dental é a técnica de eleição para indivíduos que sofreram com a avulsão de um dente com rizogênese completa e consiste na recolocação do dente totalmente deslocado para fora da cavidade oral de volta ao seu sítio original. Isto permite a manutenção da saúde dos tecidos orais e ganho de qualidade de vida e auto estima a quem sofreu o trauma. Vários fatores estão relacionados com o sucesso da técnica e manutenção da função do elemento avulsionado. Figuram entre eles, principalmente, o tempo e o meio em que o dente permaneceu fora de seu sítio original e o aparecimento posterior de reabsorções radiculares. Estes e outros fatores serão abordados e discutidos neste trabalho afim de esclarecer aos médicos dentistas os principais eventos da técnica do reimplante dental. Foi realizada pesquisa bibliográfica nas bases de dados MEDLINE, LILACS e BBO e em livros de referência.
Dental reimplantation is the technique of choice for individuals who have suffered from the avulsion of a tooth with complete rhizogenesis and consists of replacing the fully dislocated tooth out of the oral cavity back to its original site. This allows the maintenance of oral tissue health and gain quality of life and self esteem to those who have suffered the trauma. Several factors are related to the success of the technique and maintenance of the function of the avulsion element. They mainly include the time and environment in which the tooth remained outside its original site and the subsequent appearance of root resorption. These and other factors will be addressed and discussed in this work in order to clarify to the dentists the main events of the dental reimplantation technique. A bibliographic search was carried out in the MEDLINE, LILACS and BBO databases and in reference books.
