| dc.description.abstract | A problemĂĄtica dos caninos inclusos Ă© uma situação relativamente comum, uma vez que afeta uma parte relevante da população, numa sociedade em que Ă© crescente a preocupação com a saĂșde oral e com a estĂ©tica do sorriso, salientando tambĂ©m a sua importĂąncia funcional, que deve, sempre que possĂvel, ser assegurada. Este facto faz com que, qualquer mĂ©dico dentista, mais cedo ou mais tarde, venha certamente a ser confrontado com este diagnĂłstico ao longo do seu percurso profissional. O diagnĂłstico precoce de caninos inclusos Ă© essencial para que o processo de tratamento seja eficaz, e para que as opçÔes terapĂȘuticas mais adequadas sejam postas em prĂĄtica, de forma a minimizar ou atĂ© evitar os possĂveis efeitos secundĂĄrios que daĂ advĂȘm. Como abordagem intercetiva na inclusĂŁo dos caninos, deve ser verificada a posição do incisivo lateral pois este poderĂĄ estar a ocupar o espaço do canino, influenciando assim uma incorreta erupção do mesmo. Caso nĂŁo seja possĂvel uma abordagem intercetiva, apĂłs os 14 anos de idade e se existir no paciente um atraso ou uma inclusĂŁo de um dente canino decĂduo, deve ser feita uma abordagem corretiva de modo a se evitar uma incorrecta erupção. Na presente dissertação, o objectivo Ă© abordar o processo de diagnĂłstico dos caninos inclusos, bem como as diferentes opçÔes terapĂȘuticas. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The problem of included canines is a very common situation, because it affects a relevant part of the population in society where the concerns with oral health and the aesthetics of the smile is increasing, never forgetting its functional significance that must be secured every time as possible. This fact leads to the situation that every dentist, sooner or later, will be dealing with this diagnosis during his professional course. An early diagnosis is the key both to the effectiveness of the treatment process as well for the most correct choice of the therapeutical option, in way to minimize the possible side effects that can occur. The interceptive approach in included canines consists in the evaluation of the position of the lateral incisive that must be verified because these teeth can be on the position of the canine, causing its incorrect eruption. In the cases that the interceptive approach is not possible, after the 14 years old of age, if its verified in the patient a delay or an inclusion of the deciduous canine, a corrective approach must take place in manner to avoid an incorrect eruption of the teeth. With this dissertation, the objective is to analyse the process of diagnosis of included canines, as well as the different therapeutical options. | pt_PT |
