Abstract(s)
The post-doctoral project in Digital Arts / Cyber Literature carried out under the guidance of professor Rui Torres, aimed, on the one hand, to institute what was conventionally called “generative textual philosophy”, and, on the other hand, to explore, using a combinatorial software program, the potential of Cartesian thinking based on four fundamental propositions, namely the proposition “I think, therefore I am”, the proposition “I am a material thing and a thinking thing”, the proposition “the evil genius puts thoughts in me” and, “I can only doubt, existing, and I exist, doubting to exist”. The development of this digital work (generative, combinatory and animated) will present the reader with more than thirty billion topics according to the propositions of Cartesian thought, and will also provide new readings and interpretations. At the end of this project, there were thus two different productions: the practical production that culminated with the digital artefact and the theoretical production on the “generative textual philosophy” (which supports theoretically the first one) of an essay/article (which is awaiting evaluation ), to be published in a specialized journal.
