Sargadelos é um dos melhores exemplos da influência da Ilustraçao na Galiza, que estava,
naquele tempo, ainda sob a influência feudal, sofrendo uma grande deterioração.
Ibáñez foi inspirado pelo movimento europeu de renovação cultural e econômica, e
fundou uma fábrica metalúrgica no norte de Lugo transformada, mais tarde, numa fábrica
de cerâmica que imitasse a produção inglesa, especialmente de “tipo Bristol”.
Sargadelos is one of the best examples of the influence of the Enlightment on Galicia,
that at that time was still under the feudal influence that had taken it to a great decay.
Ibáñez was inspired by the prevailing European movement of cultural and economic
renovation, and he set up a smelting factory in the north of Lugo later turned into a
ceramics factory that imitated English production, especially the so-called “Bristol type”.
