Abstract(s)
Objectivo: Avaliar e discutir a aplicação de laser no tratamento da peri-implantite através de uma revisão de literatura.
Métodos: Realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica recorrendo à base de dados da PubMed. Apenas foram incluídas estudos clinicos, revisões sistemáticas e meta-análises, baseadas em estudos em humanos, nos ultimos 5 anos. A pesquisa resultou num total de 13 artigos.
Resultados: Até à data, não existem evidências suficientes que sustentem o benefício terapêutico do laser, a longo prazo, no tratamento da peri-implantite.
Conclusão: São necessários mais ensaios clínicos com protocolos bem definidos e com amostras e tempos de follow-up maiores que permitam clarificar a possível utilidade do laser no tratamento da peri-implantite.
