| dc.description.abstract | SinĂłnimos de saĂșde, sucesso social e profissional, estĂ©tica e aparĂȘncia ocupam um lugar importante na sociedade atual. Hoje, ter um belo sorriso tornou-se importante. Algumas pessoas sĂŁo complexados pelo seu "sorriso gengival" (exposição gengival excessiva durante o sorriso), levando a consultar o seu dentista. E com razĂŁo, jĂĄ que esse tipo de sorriso Ă© frequentemente percebido como nĂŁo attractivo e sem graça. Esta situação Ă© encontrada em 10% da população, ocorre duas vezes mais em mulheres (14%) do que em homens (7%). A prevalĂȘncia da linha alta do sorriso Ă© maior em jovens com menos de 35 anos (11%) do que naqueles com mais de 36 anos (7,5%). (Paris e Faucher, 2003) O clĂnico deve discernir a(s) etiologia(s), antes de estabelecer um plano de tratamento adequado, na maioria dos casos, uma abordagem multidisciplinar. | dc.description.abstract | Synonyms of health, social and professional success, aesthetics and appearance take an important place in today's society. Today, having a beautiful smile has become important. Some people are complexed by their "gingival smile" (excessive gingival exposure during the smile), coming to consult their dentist. And rightly so, since this type of smile is often perceived as ugly and unsightly. This situation is found in 10% of the population, occurs twice more in women (14%) than in men (7%). The prevalence of the smile line is higher in young people younger than 35 years (11%) than in those older than 36 years (7.5%). The dentist should discern his (or) etiology (s), before he can develop a suitable treatment plan, in most cases, a multidisciplinary approach.
