| dc.description.abstract | Neste trabalho, pretende-se problematizar o consentimento informado à luz das diferentes compreensões da sua relevância para o respeito da autonomia do indivíduo doente. Partimos da definição de autonomia, para, depois, apresentarmos os vários modelos de relação clínico-paciente no que diz respeito, precisamente, à articulação do respeito pela autonomia do doente com a responsabilidade do profissional de saúde. Reflectiremos, em seguida, sobre o consentimento informado à luz do conceito de autonomia e em articulação com os modelos apresentados. Concluímos que o exercício de autonomia, consignado no consentimento informado, depende não só do paciente, mas também do clínico, destacando a necessidade de insistir num modelo baseado na interdependência. This article aims to discuss the relevance of informed consent for respecting the patient’s individual autonomy. We will begin by defining autonomy. Then, we will present different models of doctor-patient relations, underlining the combination of respect for the patient’s autonomy with the responsibility of the health professional. After presenting these different models, we will look into informed consent within the concept of autonomy, as well as considering the models discussed. This study seems to demonstrate that the exercise of autonomy, established by informed consent, depends not only on the patient, but also on the health professional, thus emphasizing the need to insist upon a model of autonomy based on interdependence. | por |
