Introdução: Esta tese destaca a importância e frequência das urgências endodônticas, analisando seu impacto na prática clínica dentária e a necessidade de respostas rápidas e eficazes para aliviar o sofrimento do paciente.
Objetivo: Realizar uma revisão da literatura para compreender a melhor abordagem e tratamento para os diferentes tipos de urgências endodônticas.
Metodologia: A pesquisa foi realizada no Pubmed e Cochrane Library, correlacionando as palavras-chave: “Endodontics”; “Emergencies”; “Endodontic Diagnosis”; “Pulpotomy” e “Pulpectomy. Excluíram-se revisões e estudos não pertinentes ao tema. Foram incliudos artigos considerados relevantes pesquisados atraves de pesauisa manual.
Conclusão: O progresso em materiais e técnicas impactou o tratamento de urgências endodônticas. Destacam-se a importância do diagnóstico preciso e da importância do controlo de dor e infeção apropriados.
Introduction: This thesis highlights the importance and frequency of endodontic emergencies, analyzing their impact on dental clinical practice and the need for quick and effective responses to relieve patient suffering. Objective: Conduct a literature review to understand the best approach and treatment for the different types of endodontic emergencies. Methodology: The research was conducted on PubMed and Cochrane Library, correlating the keywords: "Endodontics"; "Emergencies"; "Endodontic Diagnosis"; "Pulpotomy", and "Pulpectomy". Reviews and studies not relevant to the topic were excluded. Articles considered relevant were included through manual search. Conclusion: Progress in materials and techniques has impacted the treatment of endodontic emergencies. The importance of accurate diagnosis and the importance of appropriate pain and infection control are highlighted.
