Abstract(s)
The territorial transformations that take place in the contemporary city are debated and very marked by the exponential growth of technologies. These transformations influence man’s perception of space and time, altering balances and forms of territorial organization and creating a new environment for social relations. The interaction between physical spaces and immaterial spaces is particularly analyzed, from which hybrid urban spaces emerge that make up the contemporary city. It appears that the logics of territorial behavior are different and require functional and organic adjustments in the current territorial structures. We conclude that the spatial transformations coming from the digital age make the reconfiguration of urban planning theory and practice inevitable. Among the new predicates required for planning are the flexibility of territorial management instruments, greater interaction with the population and the development of innovative strategies that respond to a society in constant evolution.
