Abstract(s)
O objectivo deste
Background: Under the anatomical corrections, the Distraction Osteogenic (DO) is a surgical procedure that is a valid therapeutic alternative in the reconstruction of skeletal deformities; Are planned cuts and gradual movements that promot new tissue amount. This procedure brings value in necessary surgical and orthodontic treatments. The purpose of this work is to support the DO as a therapeutic alternative to conventional surgical. Material and Methods: Scientific articles were searched on "Distraction Osteogenic" with initial use of search engines with specificity for the area (Pub-Med and Scielo), further consultation on online magazines (JADA, NZDJ, JCP) and finally accessing some sites with appropriate framework. Conclusion: DO is a gain in reconstructive jaw processes. From the simple resolutions to most complex esthetic or functionaries, with a variety distractors, advertises itself as a promising technique that is capable of generating final results of combining the new tissue formed in equilibrium and functionality
