Na prática diária, o médico-dentista é frequentemente confrontado com dentes com destruição coronária significativa. Após a remoção do tecido cariado e o tratamento endodôntico, o profissional depara-se frequentemente com um dente com menos paredes remanescentes no qual se torna menos previsível a realização de uma restauração direta. Uma ancoragem radicular pode ser necessária para a restauração da parte coronal geralmente realizada com uma peça protética. O objetivo desta revisão narrativa é descrever os tipos de espigões utilizados na reabilitação de um dente endodonciado, compreender a sua utilidade e indicações, comparar e estabelecer as suas principais características.
In daily practice, the dentist is often confronted with teeth with significant coronary destruction. After the removal of carious tissue and endodontic treatment, the professional is often faced with a tooth with fewer remaining walls in which it becomes less predictable to perform a direct restoration. A root anchorage is then necessary for the restoration of the coronal part, usually performed with a prosthetic piece. The objective of this narrative review is to describe the types of posts used in the rehabilitation of an endodontic tooth, to understand their usefulness and indications, to compare and to establish its main characteristics.
