| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho tem como principal objetivo relatar e classificar os tipos de odontoma, com ênfase no odontoma complexo, e ainda, descrever sua prevalência, etiologia, localização, características clínicas, radiográficas e histopatológicas, diagnóstico diferencial, prognóstico, tratamento ao longo do tempo, e complicações pós-operatórias, numa clássica revisão de literatura. O odontoma refere-se ao tipo de tumor odontogénico mais comum e é considerado uma anomalia de desenvolvimento. Pode ser classificado em dois tipos: complexo e composto. A etiologia destes tumores é desconhecida e pode estar associada aos dentes inclusos, traumatismos, infeção local ou fatores hereditários. O seu crescimento é tipicamente lento e assintomático. O tratamento consiste em remoção cirúrgica conservadora por enucleação seguida de exame histopatológico, e tem prognóstico favorável. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study is to report and classify the types of odontoma, with emphasis on complex odontoma, and its epidemiological aspects, etiology, location, clinical, radiographic and histological characteristics, differential diagnosis, prognosis and treatment over the time, and postoperative complications, based on a classic literature review. The odontoma is the most common odontogenic tumor and it’s considered an anomaly of development. It also can be classified in two types: complex and compound. The etiology of these tumors is unknown, nevertheless, may be related with included teeth, trauma, local infection or hereditary factors. Their growth is typically slow and asymptomatic. Treatment consists on conservative surgical enucleation removal followed by histopathological analysis and has a positive prognosis. | pt_PT |
