A busca do Médico Dentista quanto à reabilitação de pacientes com reabsorção severa do
osso maxilar e ou pneumatização do seio maxilar, sempre foi motivo de preocupação. Em
casos de tratamento como o edentulismo maxilar posterior, novas técnicas são desenvolvidas
incorporando materiais, conceitos e utilizando reconstruções prévias ou simultaneamente com
o emprego de fixações de implantes convencionais. Em outros casos somente com técnicas de
ancoragem zigomática. Utilizando critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram selecionados
artigos, teses, monografias e dissertações para realização deste trabalho, publicados em
plataformas online como PubMed, Scielo e Google Acadêmico e uma obra literária específica
sobre o assunto. Após realização da pesquisa bibliográfica foram selecionadas fontes
científicas relacionadas às técnicas cirúrgicas do assunto apresentado. O objetivo deste
trabalho é demonstrar as técnicas utilizadas para fixações de implantes zigomáticos. Esses
implantes surgiram como tratamento alternativo às técnicas reconstrutivas através de enxertos
ósseos maxilares.
The search of the Dentist related to rehabilitation of patients with severe resorption of the maxillary bone and or pneumatization of the maxillary sinus, has always been cause for concern. In cases of treatment such as posterior maxillary edentulism, new techniques are developed incorporating materials, concepts and using previous reconstructions or simultaneously with use of conventional implant fixations. In other cases only with zygomatic anchoring techniques. Using inclusion and exclusion criteria, articles, theses, monographs and dissertations were selected for this work, published on online platforms such as PubMed, Scielo and Google Scholar, and a specific literary work on the subject. After the bibliographic research, scientific sources related to the surgical techniques of the presented subject were selected. The purpose of this work is to demonstrate the techniques used for fixations of zygomatic implants. These implants were developed as an alternative treatment to reconstructive techniques through maxillary bone grafts.
