| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Due to the large amount of scientific evidence on the subject and the limitations and incongruities in previous reviews, the primary aim of this umbrella review was to gather all the information regarding the importance of vitamin D levels in the osseointegration of dental implants. Methods: The literature search was performed in PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL Plus, Cochrane Library, and Academic Search Complete throughout the search expression ["vitamin D” AND (“dental implant” OR “dental implants”)]. Results: The initial search yielded 351 results but at the end of the process only five Systematic Reviews were selected. Conclusions: Vitamin D seems to have a positive effect on the osseointegration of dental implants and on the reduction of dental implant failures, however it is recommended that future studies take into account the limitations mentioned in this study, in order to increase the validity and quality of scientific evidence on the subject. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Introdução: Devido à grande quantidade de evidência científica sobre o tema e às limitações e incongruências nas revisões anteriores, o objetivo principal desta revisão guarda-chuva foi reunir todas as informações sobre a importância dos níveis de vitamina D na osteointegração dos implantes dentários. Métodos: A pesquisa foi realizada na PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL Plus, Cochrane Library e Academic Search Complete, através da expressão de pesquisa ["vitamina D” AND (“dental implant” OR “dental implants”)]. Resultados: A pesquisa inicial originou 351 resultados, no entanto, no final do processo, apenas cinco Revisões Sistemáticas foram selecionadas. Conclusões: A vitamina D parece ter um efeito positivo na osteointegração de implantes dentários e na redução do insucesso dos mesmos, porém é recomendado que futuros estudos considerem as limitações mencionadas neste estudo, a fim de aumentar a validade e a qualidade da evidência científica sobre o tema. | pt_PT |
