Abstract(s)
Direct dental restorations are a recommended method for tooth structure replacement, so in the presence of carious tissue or loss of tooth tissue this treatment is indicated. Its success depends on multiple factors, and may not be achieved if the clinician does not adopt the proper techniques and materials. These factors include the conformation of the preparation, the isolation, the type of interproximal matrix selected when there is loss of contact point, the adhesive technique, the composite chosen, and the application method and technique. Authors from various studies show that the analysis and treatment should be tailored to each individual case, but current recommendations allow us to obtain predictive and optimized results.
