Abstract(s)
Today, implants are the first choice for fixed prosthesis rehabilitation, always depending on the patient's bone availability. The dentist must choose the most suitable prosthetic device to place on the implant, which has the greatest possible retention. Thus, two rehabilitation systems can be distinguished on implants: the cemented crowns and the screw-retained crowns, and it is part of the dentist's competence to choose between one system or another. The aim of this work will be to briefly review the main advantages and disadvantages of each of these systems, from an aesthetic, retention, fracture, parafunctional habits, periodontal, functional and biological point of view. For this, a bibliographic search was carried out for the main scientific references and the following keywords: Crowns on implants; Screw-retained prostheses; Cemented prostheses; Aesthetics; Occlusion; Retention.
