As plásticas periodontais são valorizadas e procuradas por pessoas que desejam corrigir o sorriso gengival, o que ocorre, naturalmente com pessoas que possuem um sorriso alto e acabam expondo excessivamente a gengiva. Existem várias causas e tratamentos. Esta revisão bibliográfica abrange a correção do sorriso gengival através da técnica de Gengivectomia com o auxílio da aplicação da toxina botulínica, como uma alternativa terapêutica, que visa auxiliar o alinhamento da margem gengival, oferecendo harmonização ao sorrir e uma correção estética favorável ao paciente.
Periodontal plastics are prized and sought after by people who wish to correct the gingival smile, which occurs naturally with people who have a high smile and end up exposing the gingiva excessively. Given that there are several causes and treatments, this bibliographic review covers the correction of the gingival smile through the technique of Gingivectomy with the aid of botulinum toxin as a therapeutic alternative, which aims to help the alignment of the gingival margin, offering harmonization when smiling and a favorable aesthetic correction.
