Abstract(s)
Introduction: Endodontics underwent a relevant technological evolution, with the introduction of new equipment, new instrumentation systems and obturation. This evolution was materialized in a better prognosis and success rate of the endodontic treatment, shorter treatment time and better technical dexterity that offers the Dentist. Objective and Methodology: This narrative literature review aims to compare the various techniques of obturation to its evolution to date addressing current techniques and materials in the area of obturation. Examine the evolution of filling materials and compare the indications and limitations of each of the mentioned filling systems. Conclusions: The filling phase was one of the most advanced, due to the research and introduction of new biocompatible materials, the development of techniques that provide a better three-dimensional filling of the root canals with an airtight and aseptic sealing, thus creating conditions for tissue repair of periapical tissues and the reduction of inflammatory processes.
