Este artículo contiene, desde lo literario, un análisis hermenéutico sobre algunas de las
canciones de José Alfredo Jiménez, que, de alguna manera, se vinculan con el amor y la
reconciliación. Son las canciones que los enamorados llevan hasta los balcones de la mujer
amada; para alagarla o cortejarla. Los seres humanos buscamos la armonía mediante
diversos medios, pactamos o negociamos la paz. En cierto modo, las serenatas son una
costumbre para lograr dicho objetivo: pero, lo que considero fundamental, es que las serenatas
no se discuten ni se debaten, solamente, y gracias a su musicalidad, se dejan oír.
This article is a hermeneutical analysis of some popular songs by José Alfredo Jiménez associated with love and reconciliation. These are the songs that lovers bring to the windows to serenade their beloved. Human’s beings look for harmony through different means, making pacts or negotiating to achieve peace. In some ways, the “serenata” is a tradition that seeks to attain that purpose, but, what I consider essential is that with “serenatas” there is no debate, discussion or dispute; because of its musicality, we simply hear it and listen to it.
