Introduction: Photogrammetry appeared as an alternative for multiple implant impression. Stereo-photogrammetry is a more sophisticated alternative to photogrammetry, which estimates the 3D coordinates of the points of an object, making the process quicker and more precise. The PICdental® camera is a stereo-camera that records implant positions in the mouth by means of photogrammetry with the objective of registering and obtaining a viable, reliable and direct digital impression of the positions of the multiple implants.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy of the PICdental® stereo- photogrammetric camera through a narrative review of the literature. Materials and methods: Research done through online data bases PubMed, PMC, Cochrane Library and Google Scholar it was collected until June of 2021 and the relevant references publication lists were used to identify studies about results with full-arch fixed dental prosthesis approach, photogrammetry and dental impression technique.
Results: In an open research the total results were 397 references. As to identify the studies that would complete this revision after being applied the inclusion criteria, 17 articles were subtracted to make up the basis of this work. Conclusion: The use of photogrammetry via PiCdental® camera as an alternative to digital impression for multiple implants is an easy and trustworthy technique, which permits an adequate fit without prosthetic complications.
