Objetivo: Uma comparação entre a utilização dos sistemas digitais de impressões orais (Scanners intraorais) e técnicas convencionais de impressão intraoral no planeamento de tratamentos reabilitadores.
Materiais e Metodologia: Foram realizadas pesquisas nas seguintes bases de dados: Pubmed, Biomed e Elsevier, tendo sido encontrados 88 artigos referentes ao tema, sendo que foram utilizados 19 destes na produção desta revisão bibliográfica.
Resultados: Na comparação entre as duas técnicas de impressões orais, foi notável a existência de vantagens em cada uma delas e suas as diferenças não invalidam nenhuma delas.
Conclusões: Apesar das técnicas digitais de impressões orais apresentarem vantagens significativas, é ainda necessário maior desenvolvimento nesta área para que a substituição das técnicas convencionais seja definitiva.

Results: In the comparison between both techniques, it is noticeable the advantages of each one and the differences don’t discard any of them as a viable option. Conclusions: Although the digital impressions presente significant advantages, it is still required that more advances are made on this technologie for the conventional techniques to be replaced.
