Abstract(s)
Objective: Make known the most current scientific evidence on preventive/therapeutic approaches to OM induced by radiotherapy and chemotherapy whose efficacy and safety have already been minimally proven in children. Methodology: For the elaboration of this literature review, research of articles published in the electronic databases PubMed and B-on was performed, between November 2022 and May 2023. A total of 45 articles were selected for the execution of this work. Topic addressed: OM is the oral manifestation that has a higher incidence rate in pediatric patients and causes a significant reduction in the patient's quality of life. To this end, preventive and/or therapeutic techniques have been used, among which cryotherapy, photobiomodulation and the use of palifermin stand out, with the aim of providing the well-being of these patients.
